Dezeen Showroom: trestle legs and a customisable, J-shaped privacy screen distinguish the Solari desk system, developed by Italian office furniture company IOC in collaboration with Gensler.

The workbench can be electronically height-adjusted and used in both a seated and standing form, with an integrated alarm alerting the user when it's time to change positions.

On its own, the desk encourages collaboration and can even be used in a domestic set-up, while an optional, noise-absorbing divider screen can be added to facilitate deep work and concentration in an open-plan office.

The Solari desk system includes an optional, J-shaped privacy screen

The divider curves in at the bottom to form a distinctive J-shape that holds all of the necessary wiring while keeping floor space clear.

"Solari was conceived with a casual but distinct design language that recalls the aesthetic of a design atelier," said Mark Morton, a design director and principal at Gensler.

With a mission to "give every occupant a sense of personal space" each of the dividers is outfitted with a fabric panel, which comes in a range of vibrant Kvadrat colours and can serve as a backdrop for personal photos, notes and reminders.

Additional storage can be added on in the form of a suspended pedestal or cabinet.

19 Men Who “Peaked” Early In Life Share Their Pics For The “Glow-Down Challenge”

In April, women on TikTok were sharing their “glow-downs,” showing just how much they’ve changed since high school. The challenge went viral after a TikToker @gabslife99 posted a video saying she “physically peaked in high school” and stated that “I look nothing like that now." The TikTok has been watched 1.4 million times, so you get the buzz.

Now, boys are getting in on the challenge too. The TikToker @rickyv just shared somewhat of a comical video of his own “one-year glow-down” and invited everyone to “feel free to duet with ur glo-downs so I feel better about myself.”

While @rickyv’s video amassed 589.9k views and counting, more men are coming clean with their yearly transformations from “looking like a delicious little snack” to “wut da heck happened.” And it’s honestly hilarious.

London Church Holds A Memorial Service For A Stray Cat Who Lived There For 12 Years

On a winter day in 2008, a hungry stray cat stumbled upon the Southwark Cathedral in London and never left. The kitty soon found her cozy little space right by a warm pipe beneath the chancel or on a cushion in the consistory court.

Doorkins Magnificat became such a vital part of the church’s community, capturing the hearts of clergy and visitors alike, making “the place softer and gentler and more accessible for the thousands,” according to Dean Andrew Nunn. She even met a Queen, or rather the Queen met her when the kitty fell asleep in her majesty’s favorite spot and remained there as her majesty arrived.

But unfortunately, on September 30, Doorkins Magnificat passed away. To commemorate the beloved feline, Southwark held a memorial service and laid Doorkins to rest in the churchyard. In a touching obituary, the Dean thanked God for “giving us such companions out of your good creation.” And the once-stray kitty will surely be missed by the hearts of many.
