Dwayne Wade Hits Back At Trolls Who Made Fun Of His Son For Wearing A Crop Top And Fake Nails

Children should not become the targets of people’s hate just because they wear something others might not like. Unfortunately, some internet users are like a dog with a bone—they won’t let go because they have a need to share their angry comments with the world and don’t care who gets hurt in the process.

Internet haters criticized NBA star Dwyane Wade and his actress wife Gabrielle Union-Wade’s 12-year-old son Zion for wearing a crop top and fake nails in the family’s Thanksgiving photo.

As a papa-bear should, Dwyane stepped in to defend his son, hit back at the internet trolls, and exclaimed that the entire family will continue to “support each other with pride, love, and a smile.”

The internet hate began to flow when Zion’s stepmom, Gabrielle, posted a Thanksgiving photo of the whole family, including Zion’s baby sister Kaavia James. Some of the critics attacked Zion, while others had a go at Gabrielle, criticizing her role as a stepmother.

Basketball player Dwyane called out the internet trolls for their “stupidity” and “hate,” pointing out that he is the head of his family, not them.

In an interview with Variety, Dwyane talked about supporting his son and about how Zion attended a pride parade in Miami last spring.

“I think as a family, we should support each other. That’s our job. And my job as a father is to facilitate their lives and to support them and be behind them in whatever they want to do,” basketball star Dwyane told Variety.

“I’m asked a question about my kids a lot from a sports perspective. I think people expect you to parent each kid the same. They are all different, and I have to get to know them and where they are. I have to say to most parents, get to know your kids. Don’t put your wants and needs on them.”

Other internet users rushed to Dwyane and his son’s defense
