The Woman Who Refused To Cut Her Hair Since She Was 5 Is Now 34 Y.O. And Looks Like A Real-Life Rapunzel

While many of us dream about having long, luscious locks, we all know that having perfect long hair comes down to two things. The first thing is that you need to be extremely patient when you are growing it out and put a lot of effort into taking care of your hair. The second is, of course, genetics, so no matter what products you use, your thin, prone to breakage hair won’t become thick and healthy-looking. If you’re one of the unlucky ones who wasn’t blessed with patience or good genes, you can only admire those who have both of these things.

One of those lucky people is 34-year-old Alena Kravchenko from Odesa, Ukraine. She has been dubbed the real-life Rapunzel after going viral for her 6 foot (1.8 meters) long hair.

Alena has been growing her hair since she was 5 years old, after being encouraged by her mother. “From an early age, my mother instilled a love for long hair,” she told Bored Panda.

She hasn’t cut her hair in almost 30 years, and despite her hair outgrowing her height of 5′6″ (1.68 meters) she doesn’t even think about cutting it.

“My love for my braid is so strong that for a second in my whole life I did not think about a haircut. I can not see and cannot imagine myself with short hair or dyed in a different color!” she added.

While taking care of such long and beautiful locks takes some time, Alena says that it’s not that hard for her as she absolutely loves her hair.

“It’s not hard for me with my hair, nor the constant care of them, it’s all a joy because this is part of me — my beauty and wealth!” she states.

The woman says that to keep her hair healthy she allows it to dry naturally and uses products to nourish it.

“The main thing that I never do: I don’t dry my hair with a hairdryer, I don’t use curling irons, I don’t comb my wet hair (they dry naturally), it’s all taboo. I wash my hair once a week, use natural masks, various types of oils to nourish my hair; the main care is professional cosmetics. I definitely use dried fruits, nuts, and homemade cottage cheese.”

Her ultimate tip for those who want to have hair as beautiful as hers is to love it. “In order to have long and beautiful hair, you just need to really want and love what you do.”

Turns Out The Child Actor Playing Danny In “The Shining” Had No Clue They Were Filming A Horror Movie

Everyone has heard about “The Shining,” if not Stephen King’s 1977 novel, then definitely Stanley Kubrick’s horror film. The story focuses on a family occupying an isolated historical hotel after the father (played by Jack Nicholson) agrees to be the off-season caretaker of it. Jack Torrance is accompanied by his wife Wendy (Shelley Duvall) and son Danny (Danny Lloyd). Everything seems mundane and calm until a winter storm leaves the Torrances snowbound and Jack starts to lose sanity due to the supernatural forces that inhabit the hotel.

The movie is described as classic and is still listed as one of the most iconic psychological horror films despite being released in 1980. Even those who forgot about “The Shining” were surely reminded when the sequel, “Doctor Sleep,” dropped in theaters this fall.

In the documentary Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures, Jack Nicholson described working with the director and how challenging it was. The film’s script was constantly changed to the point where Nicholson stopped reading drafts, it took a year to shoot the film, and on top of it all, Kubrick antagonized his actors, and Kubrick and Duvall argued frequently. The director intentionally isolated Duvall and forced her to perform the exhausting baseball bat scene 127 times. It is reported that after the shooting, Duvall presented Kubrick with clumps of hair that had fallen out due to the extreme stress of filming.

When filming “The Shining,” Danny Lloyd had absolutely no clue that it was supposed to be a horror movie

However, one actor was sheltered not only from the director’s shenanigans, but the whole point of the movie. Danny Lloyd, who was 6 years old at the time, had no idea that they were filming a horror film.
Picked for his ability to maintain his concentration for extended periods, Lloyd was led to believe that the whole movie was a drama film about a family who lives in a hotel. Even after the film was finished, the boy was presented with an edited version of the movie that cut out all the scary and gory bits. Imagine what a twist it was for him to realize the truth years later!

Not all child actors, however, were sheltered from the horrific details of the projects

It is not uncommon to treat child actors who act in horror movies in such a manner, however, sometimes there is no way around it and child actors have to embrace the scary details of the horror films they are in. While it might sound grim and depressing, the actors report that they perfectly understand that it’s all fake, and manage to have fun with it. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Jodelle Ferland (who played the scary Alessa in “Silent Hill”) said that she knew exactly what was going on. “My mum and I both knew exactly what we were getting into. I grew up on movie sets and she knew that it wouldn’t really affect me –I knew that it was all make-believe. If I had ever shown that I was uncomfortable in any way, then she definitely would have stopped it. But I was always having a great time,” the actress said. “I was never creeped out by other people in the film to the point of actual fear, but they didn’t always use CGI on “Silent Hill,” so there were a lot of real creatures, which were honestly pretty terrifying. It’s like when you go to a haunted house on Halloween, and, of course, you know nothing is real, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t scare you a bit.”

In the same interview, Megan Charpentier, who acted in “Mama,” said that at first, she was a little freaked out when she first saw Javier Botet in character after having met him beforehand and noting how nice he was. “We had a conversation with him later on, and I still had to avert my gaze because he was so scary-looking, but it wore off eventually,” the actress explained.

Man Spends A Week Building A Doraemon Figure Out Of 2,432 Blocks, His Cat Wrecks It

Anyone who owns a cat knows that when they want attention, they’ll find one of a hundred different ways to get it. And boy, do they get jealous if they think you’re giving their rightfully-deserved attention to something else. Like a huge project.

One mischievous cat found a powerful way to get its owner’s attention: it wrecked a large, 2,432-piece figure of Doraemon. Well, the man from Thailand who works at a toy store spent a whole week building the figure for a client, so all of that hard work suddenly went out the window.

When the man posted photos of the catto and the shattered remains of Doraemon on Facebook, the story went viral. Scroll down to see just how naughty some pets can be!

A toy store worker built a Doraemon figure for a client…

…but his cat wrecked it!

The toy store worker’s photos on Facebook got over 63,000 likes, were reshared 72,000 times, and got more than 23,000 comments. Imagine if every cat who’s ever broken something it shouldn’t have got this kind of attention—the internet would be practically run by cats! Oh, wait, it already is.

The client wanted the Doraemon figure before the New Year, and we don’t know if the toy store worker managed to finish rebuilding the sculpture before the deadline. But we certainly hope he did!

For those of you who might not know, Doraemon is an incredibly popular character from the titular Japanese manga series, written and illustrated by Fujiko Fuijo—the pen name of the talented Hiroshi Fujimoto and Motoo Abiko.

Doraemon is a cat robot from the 22nd century and was sent to help out Nobita Nobi, a young boy who had poor grades and constantly gets bullied by his classmates. Doraemon has a four-dimensional pouch in which he stores unexpected gadgets that improve the boy’s life.

The manga was published way back in 1969, and there are 45 volumes available. So if you’re in need of something new to read in 2020, give the manga a go. Since 1979, it’s an annual tradition in the Land of the Rising Sun to release a new Doraemon movie every March. However, Doraemon enjoys great success outside of Japan as well.

People laughed at the unfortunate event

While some were concerned for the kitties safety:

For the record, you should never lift your cat with just one hand, it can hurt their fragile spines
