Jason Momoa Loses His Muscles And His Hair In This Bizarre Super Bowl Ad

Beloved actor Jason Momoa, whom we all know from Game of Thrones and Aquaman, has the internet’s attention once again. And this time, it’s not for his long, flowing locks or his bulging muscles. In fact, it’s the opposite!

“Home is where I can be myself.” That’s what Momoa says in a hilarious (and slightly disturbing) Super Bowl ad while he’s taking off his muscles and his wig. The video, quite naturally, went viral. And it’s good to see that Momoa’s still Momoa, even without his rocking body.

Scroll down for the full video and to read how people reacted to Momoa’s ad. Oh, and if you’re still in need of some Momoa goodness, I suggest you have a read through Bored Panda’s previous articles about his amazing photoshoot with Esquire, as well as about the time he dressed up as pink Elvis. Also, be sure to check out our post about how a man bought a 6 million dollar ad to thank the vets who saved his dog’s life.

Momoa’s ad is funny and a bit disturbing

Here’s an extra clip…

…and here’s some behind-the-scenes footage

Momoa’s full of charisma even without his muscles. But some of his fans couldn’t handle how weird he looked in the ad.

After all, we’re used to seeing him as the mighty Khal Drogo and the powerful Aquaman on the screen. Not as a scrawny middle-aged weakling who has trouble lifting even small weights.

Something you might not know about Momoa is that he played Conan the Barbarian in the 2011 film. With muscles like his, how could he not?

And if you’re wondering about the manly scar near the actor’s left eyebrow, Momoa got it when someone hit him with a glass at a Hollywood bar back in 2008.

Funny ads aside, most of us are probably looking forward to Momoa’s next acting project. Well, the good news is, he’ll be reprising his earlier role as Aquaman in the sequel. The bad news is, we’ll still have to wait a long while for the movie: it premiers only in December of 2022.

Some fans of the actor couldn’t believe what they were seeing

Husband Took His Ex-Wife’s Dog Away, Abandoned Him, But Now She’s Flying 2000 Km To Adopt Him

There are many heartbreaking stories told by animal shelter workers which we share with you from time to time, however, this one definitely stands out of the crowd. The reason is that the poor dog in this story was left behind, betrayed, and had to look for his owners not once but twice. But after all the suffering, his owner decided to travel more than 2,000 kilometers just to be together with him again. Let’s start from the beginning!

Everything started a few years ago in 2016 when a girl named Ksenia found an exhausted dog on the side of the road. He could barely walk and was very thin and frozen, his condition was terrible. He must have been wandering on the streets for weeks. At first, he didn’t trust the girl so it took a few days for her to bring him to the animal shelter. There, he was given his new name – Bely.

But Bely’s problems didn’t stop there. Even though the people from the animal shelter, Zoozashchita, did their best, it was really hard for him to adapt. On top of that, he had a deadly disease called enteritis which is an inflammation of the small intestine and is caused by a wide range of potential problems. However, Bely didn’t give up and with the volunteers’ help, fought this disease like the true hero he is.

It took some time but with a lot of care, love, and attention, Bely transformed beyond recognition. He became much stronger, prettier and of course, happier. He even started playing with others!

One day, he finally found a home and all that suffering seemed to have gone to the past. He was taken to a beautiful family and even had a sofa at his disposal! They gave him another name – Marvin – and showed him a lot of love by training and walking him 6-8 hours a day and looking after him.

But then life happened and the family broke up. His owner decided to move to another city and couldn’t take him with her because her ex-husband served in the army and took him to the territory of the military unit. And so he was left with her ex-husband.

It seemed like Marvin wasn’t being taken care of properly because in the summer, he ran away from his owner. Marvin was brought back to him. Two months later, the inevitable happened and the owner returned Marvin to the shelter asking them to take care of him for two days. But he never came back.

For the first 2-3 weeks, Marvin suffered badly because he understood that once again he was abandoned. He wasn’t interested in anything, just hid in the corner ignoring everything and everyone. He cried in the evenings like a child and it was painful to watch him.

When the former owner Julia found out about Marvin’s situation, she was crushed. She loved that dog and simply could not take him with her because of her ex-husband. But now, she decided to act and take him with her to her home in Tuapsesee and show him the Black Sea. The only problem was to organize how to transport him there so animal activists started a campaign called “Marvin is going home”.

But how do you travel more than 2,000 kilometers with a rather big dog? According to the plan, the owner has to fly to Pskov, then go with Marvin to St. Petersburg together with volunteers, and from there go home by train. The cost of the whole trip would be 20,000 rubles which is huge money. To everyone’s surprise, Marvin did it in one day. He collected 34,224 rubles as 75 people responded. Now he will be able to come back to his owner and enjoy a happy life with her!

Yellow desk made from concrete-injected balloons feature of Hem headquarters

Hem headquarters in Stockholm

Hem has designed its own headquarters at the centre of Stockholm, with interiors by the furniture brand's in-house design team and Atelier Paul Vaugoyeau.

A focal point of the HQ is a three-metre-long edition of Hem's Puffy Brick counter that's covered in amorphous, acid-yellow blocks.

London-based art and design studio Soft Baroque produced the counter by injecting balloons with concrete and then arranging them in a mould.

The 750-square-metre headquarters were needed to house Hem's Stockholm-based team, which doubled in size over 2019, outgrowing the constraints of their previous workspace.

The brand worked alongside local multidisciplinary design studio Atelier Paul Vaugoyeau to develop new offices that are able to efficiently accommodate its various company departments.

Hem's founder, Petrus Palmér, says that the HQ will also be "where [the brand's] experiments materialise".

"We have a lot of different needs such as environments for focused coding, a workshop for furniture mock-ups, a showroom space for customers etc," Palmér told Dezeen.

"With the new office, we were able to design the space from scratch, catering to all those needs, and practise what we preach – creating inspirational environments for people to thrive in."

Black desks and high-back chairs have been dotted amongst the building's chunky concrete structural columns.

The same furnishings appear in the office's glass-fronted meeting rooms, where groups of staff can head for privacy or more focused tasks.

Employees can alternatively work in more casual lounge-style areas, which feature Hem's own Hai armchairs, Kumo modular sofas and Last stools. Oversized, cone-shaped pendant lamps dangle down from above.

Atelier Paul Vaugoyeau has also "hacked" certain furnishings to elevate them from their standard office aesthetic. Simple MDF storage cabinets have been washed with a clear lacquer to highlight the natural hue of the timber.

The gridded ceiling has also been left exposed to frame views of the building's busy network of ventilation pipes.

"The bulk of Hem's business is with interior designers and progressive offices that usually avoid typical office elements, since it's seen as uncreative," added Palmér.

"Paul Vaugoyeau, who designed the architectural elements, shows that just by tweaking standard choices such as a grid ceiling or file cabinets, you can create a unique environment."

Hem's relocation to new head offices coincides with the beginning of the city's design week.

The event has so far seen Swedish brand Massproductions release an outdoor sofa that is meant to resemble the welded steel barriers erected at concerts to control crowds.
