Mother Dog Protects Her Litter In The Snow For 3 Weeks Until They Were Rescued

As Science advances, the concept of Nature becomes less and less miraculous. But there are always a few miracles in Nature that even Science can’t dispell. One of them is birth, and the other is the beauty of a mother protecting her children. In Snowbelle’s case, both of these miracles happened simultaneously. Here’s her story.

Snowbelle was found together with her six puppies in the snow near Red Lake, in the US state of Minnesota. The snow around them melted from their body heat. They were found in a very hungry state, as Snowbelle had no milk to give to them. The people were surprised to find that the puppies were already three weeks old, and they were baffled as to how they managed to survive in such harsh conditions.

After they discovered them, they were immediately sent to the local Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue shelter. Thanks to the food, heat, a roof over their heads, and, most importantly, love, Snowbelle started producing milk in a matter of days and was thus able to feed the young babies. The Snowbelle and her snowbirds, as they were called, are on their way to recovery and adoption! After she went through this baptism by cold, the shelter gave her a new name, Asha.
