The super-rich are known for their mind-boggling lavish yachts. Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman has reportedly splashed his cash on a $548M vessel named Serene. Meanwhile, Paul Allen built Octopus for $200M. Think of them as extravagant toys and status symbols for the lucky 1 percent of the population. Bill Gates (64), the founding father of Microsoft, recently made a purchase worth $645 million, proving that it’s not just a drop in the luxury ocean. In fact, Gates is the first to buy an eco-friendly mega-yacht that is run entirely on liquid hydrogen. Imagine – instead of terrifying greenhouse gases, it emits nothing but water! Plus, the futuristic yacht can travel 4000 miles before its two tanks have to be refilled. When the yacht was revealed for the first time in 2019, it was advertised as in need of a “forward-thinking owner”. What can we say? It’s a match!

The concept for the 376-foot-long futuristic super-yacht was developed by Dutch design and technology agency, Sinot. The exterior of AQUA “was inspired by ocean swells – the surge of energy induced by winds and currents, boosted by the gravitational forces that control the ocean’s tides.”

The mega-yacht has an indoor health and wellness center that features a gym, an infinity pool, a hydro-massage room, and a yoga studio.
