Even in light of recent events regarding the pandemic, with doctors and health officers recommending social distancing and self-isolation all over the world and some countries even going for some harsher measures and banning all social activities and gatherings, large weddings included, there are some silver linings.
The late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin’s daughter just shared the first photo from her wedding that took place at her parents’ zoo on the 25th of March, along with a heartwarming message, just hours before Australia went into lockdown. Turns out, she and her now-husband Chandler Powell decided to have a wedding with no guests, since they were worried about everyone’s safety.

Bindi posted the first picture from the wedding on her social media, explaining that the ceremony was held without any guests. “We’ve planned this beautiful day for nearly a year and had to change everything, as we didn’t have guests at our wedding,” she wrote. “This was a very difficult decision but important to keep everyone safe. We wish all of our friends and family could have been there with us, however it’s lovely that we will be able to share photos and videos.”

“Mum helped me get ready, Robert walked me down the aisle, Chandler became my husband and together we lit a candle in Dad’s memory. We shared tears and smiles and love. Thankfully, since we all live at Australia Zoo as a family, we could be there for each other,” Bindi wrote.
Bindi explained their decision, saying: “We’re encouraging the world to hold onto hope and love, which will carry us forward during this profound time in history”
