Design Week Awards extended until 27 March

We had many requests last week for a final extension given the gravity of the current situation and that many of you were adjusting to new working practices.

As well as giving an extension up until 27 March we’re also making some tweaks to the judging process.

Design Week is itself adapting rapidly to the challenges we are all facing. In the case of the Design Week Awards this means delivering a programme which is safe and yet has a rigorous independent judging process that recognises and celebrates the best work.

This year’s judging process

With the health and safety of our judges and staff in mind, and the practical challenges faced by entrants, we will not be hosting a face-to-face judging day to review physical samples of the work.

Through an online judging system our 30 independent judges will be able to see the work in full and record results. There will be further phone and video conferencing discussions so the process will be as rigorous as ever.

This year we are giving all entrants greater opportunity to submit digital supporting assets to show work in its best possible light — this may be video footage or additional high resolution stills. We have increased the maximum entry file size and number of images you can upload per entry to facilitate this.

We do ask that you apply some selectivity in your submission so that judges are being presented only with information to best supports their understanding your work.

While we want you to be selective we also want to give you the best chance possible to have your work seen in the best light and the best chance of winning.
