VDF products fair: The Hunter bags by German label Agnes Nordenholz are made from free-grazing sheep fur and loden – a traditional, waterproof Austrian fabric made from wool.
The fur is allowed to hang long and loose, covering the body of the bags as if they were small creatures, while gold-coloured hardware and twisted, cord handles modernise the design.
No two pieces are the same due to subtle variations in the fur, which is sourced from a farm in Northern Germany.
By making use of these traditional materials, the brand hopes to encourage small-scale, local production while preserving the region's cultural heritage.
As a slow luxury label, Agnes Nordenholz blends this distinct sense of place with quality craftsmanship and sustainable fabrication methods.
According to founder Agnes Schorer, her philosophy is that every piece should have its own story, which perfectly intertwines with the life of the owner.
Schorer is one of 15 designers being spotlighted at the VDF products fair by Austrianfashion.net –a platform championing designers who are born or based in Austria.
