Val bathroom collection by Konstantin Grcic for Laufen

Val collection by Konstantin Gric for Laufen

VDF products fairThe Val collection by Konstantin Grcic for Swiss manufacturer Laufen consists of flexible and dynamic designs that rethink the proportions of bathrooms.

Grcic's aim was to make the best use of the restricted space in compact, demanding bathroom layouts, without making the bathrooms feel cluttered.

“The simpler some pieces are, the more aesthetic they are," said Grcic.

"When they are installed in a bathroom, one must not look at them in an isolated way, but rather observe them as part of a complex environment. The simpler they are, the better they appear.”

His clean, streamlined designs for Laufen are made from the brand's SaphirKeramik ceramic material, which made it possible for Grcic to create washbasins with fine walls and slender edge radii that hardly take up any space.

The small washbasins have the same internal dimensions as larger ones, so that less spacious rooms can be fitted with them without users losing much basin volume.

Grcic took advantage of the additional space created in the basin to integrate new functions in the form of semi-dry shelves, which can be used to store soap, cosmetic or shaving brushes.

The collection includes washbasins, washbasin bowls, trays, bathtubs and new bathroom furniture, as well as a series of slender, premium faucets created specifically for Val that complement the thin-walled SaphirKeramik of the washbasins.
