Dezeen promotion: Minimalist watch brand Maven Watches has added to its Artisan series with the Dusty Olive 28-millimetre model, which takes subtle cues from the diverse landscape of Hong Kong.
The Artisan series by Maven Watches is informed by Hong Kong, where the brand is based, and more specifically the way in which the city's modern architecture blends in with the surrounding natural landscape.
Each watch in the series is designed to have a pared-back aesthetic, making them versatile enough to be styled with a variety of outfits.
"Our timepieces feature only high-end components and materials to withstand time, and act as delicate accompaniments in your everyday journey," said the brand's founder, Nathan Lo.
"We weave the strands of urbanity and nature of our homeland together to build an intricate, poetic cobweb of a modern tale."
Each watch in the Artisan series carries a Swiss quartz movement and has a wristband crafted from Italian leather.
The watch faces, which are made from scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, are available in three different diameter widths: 40 millimetres, 34 millimetres and 28 millimetres.
The latest Artisan model to become available in the 28 millimetre size is Dusty Olive, which features a rich green watch face that's edged by brushed, gold-plated stainless steel. This material has also been used to make the minute and hour hand.
This recently released, smaller model is designed to be a "stripped down" version of the Artisan watch, in which features are "distilled to their simplest form".
"It takes great craftsmanship to fit everything into such a small watch case," explained the brand. "The petite size of the watch adds a touch of femininity and elegance to the wrist."
Markers have been printed in white around the edge of the watch face, at the centre of which is Maven's brand logo.
The Artisan Series watches come in a variety of other colourways. This includes Storm Cloud, which has a moody-blue face bordered by rose-gold metal, Drizzle, which has a stark-white face bordered by brushed stainless steel, as well as Shadow, a completely black-on-black model.
The leather straps are also available in a range of shades such as off-white, navy, black and caramel, which is a warm-hued beige. Buyers can alternatively opt to have a mesh-metal wristband.
While Maven Watches is based in Hong Kong, the brand has gone on to be stocked in a selection of stores across Japan and Taiwan. To explore more of the brand's minimalist watch styles, visit its website.
