Alabaster cordless lamp by Arnold Chan for Voltra

Dezeen Showroom: London designer Arnold Chan has created the Alabaster lamp collection from smooth stone set in a metal base for lighting brand Voltra.

Each Alabaster lamp features a smooth cylinder of creamy marbled stone, which is illuminated from within to reveal the unique veins and formations that run through it.

Each lamp has a metal base that is completely cordless

Chan designed the collection for cordless lamp specialists Voltra. The lamp has three dimming modes plus a realistic candle flame-style flicker.

"The design reflects Voltra products," said Chan. "Elegant and intimate vessels of light that are versatile and simple to use."

Voltra's Alabaster lamps can be set to flicker like candles

Voltra's lamps do not require being plugged into the mains to work. Instead, the battery can be easily removed and charged, allowing the lamps to be placed anywhere in a room on any surface, without any cluttering wires.

"Our table level lights are fine-tuned to create a warm, intimate environment," said Voltra.

"Each one softly illuminates faces with the subtlety of candlelight and a captivating, flickering effect."

Voltra's Alabaster lamps are weighty and no two lamps from the range are alike. Four metal base finishes are available – Antique Bronze, Natural Brass, Polished Chrome, and Satin Nickel.
