As one would expect, in these past few months, millions of people on Twitter and other social media platforms have been posting a lot of important and much-needed information surrounding the racism-related problems in the United States. For instance, a man named Michael Harriot, a writer at The Root, created an educational Twitter thread in which he thoroughly analyzed the evolution of white supremacy and explained why it’s still extremely hard for Black people to vote.
In his Twitter thread, the guy explains the history of institutional race-based discrimination towards Black people, highlighting some of the most important events and patterns that led us to where we are now. Without further ado, we invite you to read through this much-needed Twitter thread covering serious issues we’ve been witnessing for the past hundreds of years.

You are one of the few people I would love to sit down with over dinner (I would happily cook whatever you wanted) and just have a conversation,” a user wrote. “Mr. Harriot, please turn your threads into a YouTube channel. It would reach so many more people and they need to hear and see this,” another user commented.
